"Operation Babylift: The Lost Children Of Vietnam"

Irvine, Calif. - To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon on April 30th, 1975, the University of California-Irvine invites you to a screening of the award-winning*** documentary OPERATION BABYLIFT: THE LOST CHILDREN OF VIETNAM, which tells the significant yet untold story of the $2 million U.S. initiative that airlifted over 2,500 Vietnamese orphans out of a war-torn country from the impending threat of the Communist regime. These adoptees grew up facing unique challenges in America, including prejudice overshadowed by a controversial war and cultural identity crisis. Featuring compelling and insightful interviews of the volunteers, parents, and organizations directly involved, the documentary takes a contemporary look at Operation Babylift and its relevance to international adoption today.

Cuốn phim kể lại câu chuyện đáng chú ý về chiến dịch OPERATION BABYLIFT của Hoa Kỳ đã bỏ ra 2 triệu đô la để di tản trên 2,500 trẻ em mồ côi Việt Nam khi Cộng sản xâm chiếm miền Nam. Các em mồ côi này được nhận nuôi, lớn lên ở Hoa Kỳ và phải đối mặt với những thử thách ở nước Mỹ bao gồm thành kiến, cuộc chiến nhiều tranh cãi và khủng hoảng về văn hoá. Câu chuyện được kể lại và được phỏng vấn từ các người tình nguyện, bố mẹ, và nhiều tổ chức có quan hệ đến chiến dịch này.

Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with the film's producer and director, Tammy Nguyen Lee, as well as several others involved in the film, both behind and in front of the camera.

The event is FREE TO THE PUBLIC, but a suggested donation of $5 will go towards the film's charity, ATG Against the Grain Productions, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes artistic opportunities for Asian Americans and raises funds for international orphanages.

5) Find parking in one of the recommended lots

1) Take exit 5 for Culver Dr, drive 0.3 mi
2) Turn left at Culver Dr, drive 1.6 mi
